An ink-and-watercolour path running across green fields toward a low, lamp-coloured sun.

Onward

One vow. One step a day.

A patient witness to the one large thing you have been waiting to begin.

For iPhone, iOS 17 or later. Free to walk; one purchase, made once, for the whole path.

Not a habit tracker

Onward holds a single thing in your life, something larger than yourself. A book you have been meaning to write. A relationship you owe time to. A body you want to rebuild. A practice you wish to deepen. A truth you have been postponing.

Name the thing. Make the vow. Walk.

It begins with your own words

Before you take a step, Onward asks what will trouble you on the way: the lie you will tell yourself when you want to quit, and what you will do when it comes.

On a hard day it does not cheer you on. It returns you to what you knew about yourself on the day you began. The app does not coach. It witnesses.

One step a day

Each day you hold one button to take your step, and the path is drawn behind you. At twelve places along the way, a resting place, a footbridge, a riverbank, you arrive somewhere and receive a small gift with a short story. One year, or two, or as long as you need.

An old word

There is a very old word for what Onward asks of you. Sankalp, from Sanskrit: the turning of your whole being toward one thing. Not a goal. Not a habit. A vow that reshapes the person making it.

The strength to keep walking does not come before the commitment. It comes because of it.

What we promise

Made in Surat

Onward is made by Krishna and Maulik Desai in Surat, India. We hold it to one rule: everything the app says, and everything we say about it, must be true.
